How do I read a mesh size chart?
Find the mesh number in the first column; the next columns give the opening in microns, millimeters and inches. Anything smaller than the opening passes through the screen.
Which standard does this chart use?
Standard sizes use ASTM E11 nominal openings. 150 and 250 mesh are Tyler designations (equal to ASTM No. 140 and No. 230). Italic values for non-standard mesh counts (300, 600, 800, 1000) are estimates based on assumed wire diameters (interpolated or extrapolated from the ASTM E11 series).
